Part-time study with the OU in Scotland just got more affordable.
If you're thinking about learning or getting a qualification, but you're worried about the expense, help may be available. ILA Scotland is a Scottish Government scheme for people who have an income of £18,000 a year or less, or who are on benefits. If you are 16 or over and living in Scotland you could get up to £500, depending on the amount of study you take, towards the cost of learning with a learner account from ILA Scotland. The money is not a loan so you don't have to pay any of it back. Depending on your circumstances you could alternatively qualify for a free place and help towards study expenses. With no entry requirements for most undergraduate courses, The Open University in Scotland really is open to everyone. You can take a single course to develop your understanding of a particular topic or you can work towards a certificate, diploma or degree. Find out more about all the courses offered by the OU.
